Boaz Bismuth

Boaz Bismuth is Foreign News Editor and Senior Analyst at Israel Hayom, Israel’s largest daily newspaper. He is also a senior fellow at the Bar Ilan Center for International Communications. Prior to his current position Mr Bismuth served as Israeli Ambassador to Mauritania, from 2004 to 2008. He is the author of the book Beyond the Border, a journalist and diplomat's memoir from the Arab world.

He was the Paris correspondent of the daily Yediot Achronot for almost 15 years and reported from war fronts, including Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan. He also covered Arab countries, including hostile ones - most recently to cover the Arab Spring from inside Egypt, Tunisia and Libya.  He has interviewed former Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Syrian president Bashar al-Assad and former Libyan leader Muammar al-Gaddafi, and has visited Hezbollah headquarters in Lebanon. 

Mr Bismuth holds a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from Bar-Ilan University. He graduated from Sorbonne University in Paris with Masters degrees: in International Relations and in African Studies (specializing in cooperation with developing countries). He is also a graduate from the Center of Diplomatic and Strategic Studies (CEDS) in Paris.
