When it first erupted, the world watched with anticipation and hope as the so-called Arab Spring snowballed across the region. Now with devastating civil war in Syria, ongoing upheaval in Egypt, Libyan arms flowing across the Middle East and little good news from elsewhere in the region, is hope misplaced?
